To price a meal, start by calculating the total cost of ingredients, labor, and any overheads. Once you know your base cost, factor in a desired profit margin—typically 30-50%. Consider market research – check competitors’ price – and how your meal is perceived (e.g., premium ingredients or a unique dish could justify higher prices). Factor in how many people your meal is feeding.
Example Pricing Formula:
Cost of Ingredients + Labor + Overhead Costs + Desired Profit Margin = Price$
Using this method ensures your pricing is competitive while still profitable.
