As parents of three young kids under 9, we know the challenges of juggling time and priorities all too well. Over the last 10 years, we’ve made our fair share of mistakes, but we’ve also learned a lot about creating balance in our lives. One of the biggest lessons? Embracing the power of community.
Initially, we felt like we were failing because we couldn’t do it all ourselves. But by opening up to help from those around us, we discovered more time for our kids, for ourselves, and even the occasional guilt-free date night.
Growing up on farms, we both saw firsthand the beauty of sharing fresh produce with our neighbors. Tom’s dad, a tomato grower, would gift fresh tomatoes, and in return, the neighbors would bring back delicious chutney. These memories of shared food and community shaped our passion for giving back and caring for the environment.
Yet, one challenge remained: “What are we going to eat this week, and who’s cooking?” Between meal planning, grocery shopping, meal prep, and school lunches, it was a constant struggle to keep our family fed with healthy, delicious meals—especially as the week wore on.
We tried everything: online shopping (not the freshest produce), meal kits (time-consuming prep), and still, we found ourselves stressed and running on empty.
That’s when we had an idea: My Cooking Community.
This platform brings us back to our roots, connecting with local cooks who can help us all thrive by sharing the load. Whether you need three family meals per week, monthly deliverliers of organic pureed baby food or want a lasagna and dessert ready for your weekend getaway, My Cooking Community is here for you.
We invite people of all ages, cultures, and food needs to join us in creating a vibrant community where food is shared, connections are made, and life becomes a little bit easier.
We wish you well on your food journey and hope you make connections that last a lifetime.
Welcome to My Cooking Community!
